Andrew Lane, MSc.  Senior Research Scientist has 36 years’ experience in agricultural research with the last 25 years in spray application research. He has an engineering background from the design to the manufacturing of research equipment used in studies. He specialises in both field and wind tunnel studies to determine the deposition and drift from various application techniques. With his keen interest in photography he has used this to good effect in establishing techniques for the visualisation of droplets and distribution on plants. His MSc in Farmland Conservation from Harper Adams in 2000, was used to establish vegetative buffer zones to protect water courses and environmentally sensitive areas from spray drift.
