Covid-19 Update - Business Continuity

SSAU is following government advice relating to Covid-19 (

We have no plans to close unless we are advised to by the government or the NHS.

In the foreseeable future, therefore, we will continue to operate normally:

  • We are a small team in a large building and we will be able to maintain a safe distance from others whilst conducting experimental work.

  • We are mindful of the different needs of our staff and those who are more vulnerable or who are advised by government to self-isolate will be encouraged to work from home where possible.

  • Meetings with customers can change to phone or internet conferencing where appropriate.

  • Phone communication may be more difficult if we are not in the office but voicemails and emails always reach us wherever we are.

  • We aim to continue to welcome visitors who are adhering to government guidelines and feel they do not pose a risk, but will consider such visits on a case-by-case basis.

In the event of an enforced closure, experimental work will be inevitably delayed, but many aspects of our work can continue, such as:

  • Development of new proposals for work

  • Desk studies and literature reviews

  • Drift simulations using the Silsoe Spray Drift Model

  • Data analysis and reporting

Please do get in touch if you have any concerns about the progress of work we are undertaking for you, or you would like to discuss new work
